(PASQUA X)

Sangue d’Oro

-Pantelleria, a rugged and evocative terrain and guardian of a unique wine heritage, is the new challenge for Pasqua making its mark in its centenary year. The Veronese winery has chosen to invest in the Carole Bouquet Sangue d’Oro wine project, a 3.6 hectare plot currently home to Moscato d’Alessandria (Zibibbo) vines. This move by Pasqua will lend a new voice and bring added value to Pantelleria helping to safeguard and enhance the island’s identity.

A cultural project.

The agricultural practice of cultivating head-trained bush vines on Pantelleria, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, is a symbol of heroic viticulture that risks extinction.

Pasqua and the Pantelleria winery have found a shared vision in the Sangue d’Oro project and the Passito di Pantelleria DOC, produced in the terraced vineyards of Carole Bouquet. Their shared aim is to bring ancestral know-how, which would otherwise die out, into the future with a fresh approach.

Ahead of an entrepreneurial initiative this is first and foremost a cultural project because its prime aim is to restore, with help from its founder, visibility and opportunity to a unique territory, to its winemaking know-how and to a community that adopts ancient ways and contemporary daring.
